Authentication
The authentication code appears when your access link is already being used on another device. It exists to make sure only you continue the conversation.
The new device screen
Section titled “The new device screen”When you open the link on a device that is not authorized yet, the chat shows Access on new device and explains that the link is already in use elsewhere. You have two ways forward:
- Open the chat on a device where you are already connected — a 6-digit code will be shown there for you to enter here.
- Request a new link.
Authorizing from the connected device
Section titled “Authorizing from the connected device”On the device where the chat is already open, the Authorization code window appears, with the instruction Enter this code on the device you want to authorize.
- The code stays visible while the window is open.
- Hide code closes the window; Show authorization code brings it back.
- The code expires, and the window shows the countdown.
Type that same code on the new device to grant access.
Receiving the code over WhatsApp
Section titled “Receiving the code over WhatsApp”If you cannot reach the other device, use Don’t have access to the other device? → Send code via WhatsApp. The code arrives in the WhatsApp conversation linked to your record.
When both deliveries happen, the chat states that the code was shown on the authorized device and sent to your WhatsApp — it is the same code in both places.
Entering the code
Section titled “Entering the code”- It has 6 digits.
- The screen shows Expires in Xs; after that you need a new code.
- Each wrong attempt reports how many attempts remain.
- Resend code becomes available after a short wait, shown as Resend in Xs.
| Message | What to do |
|---|---|
| Incorrect code. N attempts remaining. | Check the digits and try again. |
| Code expired. Request a new code. | Ask for a new code on the authorized device or over WhatsApp. |
| Maximum number of attempts reached. / Authorization denied. | Request a new code; the link is still valid. |
| Time expired. | The authorization window expired. Generate the code again. |
One device, one session
Section titled “One device, one session”Authorizing a device ends the previous session of that same device. This way each device always has a single valid session, and no old access is left open by mistake.
